Our visit would not be complete without a “Beef on Wick” and we were lucky K.C. was working at the Beef and Brew to serve us lunch. Delicious with horseradish!

After lunch we loaded up the kayaks for an afternoon paddle in Allegany State Park.

CCC built this center for the park.
Carmen’s dad and uncles built many houses in Allegany. They built a home just outside of town for a hunting and family retreat. They call it “camp”. We were honored to be invited there for supper, a campfire, and a good night’s sleep.
What a fun evening with Carmen, Barbara, Peter, Mary Jo, Scott, Edna, Jim and Judy. We enjoyed sharing their fun loving friendships, lots of laughter, and a few good tunes!
In the morning we had breakfast and hiked up to an abandoned ski area with views of the valley, lots of mushrooms to find. This is a pristine area.

After our “camp” we returned to Carmen’s. The Village of Allegany was having a street fair “Bonagany”and we enjoyed several local bands and the festive atmosphere. Peter and Barbara’s niece played some great tunes. Aline is on the right. Listen to her gorgeous, angelic voice.
Peter owns a design/t-shirt print studio on Main Street with his two brothers,Daniel and Michael. Here is Barb and some shots of their impressive shop.
This is Carmen’s lovely home.
We must hit the road again. We have thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Allegany. Thank you Carmen and your family and friends for making it so special. It is s place we will always remember.
