Vagabond Hearts

woke up this morning….

Last Day in Amsterdam

I will never understand the missing humanity and empathy for how Jews were treated by the Nazis. 3,000,000 were killed in that horrific period of time. The Ann Frank home and story were so impactful and incredible today. Spending two years hiding in an annex to her father’s business. Walking through her house brought her family’s experience to life and continues to remind us that this cannot happen again.

Here’s a picture of Ann and her older sister,Margot.

Sobering photos and reminders of how this came about. We cannot repeat this.

After the tour of the Ann Frank House we walked to the town square.

And then an informative, entertaining canal boat wide with Those Dam Boat Guys.

Lee was our Guide and she was fabulous! The sun came out! We met some nice folks and laughed a lot! Highly recommend this tour if you come to Amsterdam!

Then we walked and walked to an open market across town. Enjoyed a delicious Italian dinner back in our neighborhood. Went back to the canal boat to soak in the bathtub with a LUSH Sakura bath bomb and reflect on another perfect day. So grateful. We will come back. Tomorrow morning we fly to Tanzania!
