We have been so impressed with REI Adventures particularly our guides Aggrey and Godlisten.
Aggrey Elisongko Kisanga is our guide on the left. Aggrey received his certificate in tour guiding from Mount Meru Tour Guides College. He is constantly learning more about wildlife, ecology and evolution. Aggrey really enjoys sharing his intensive bush knowledge with his guests.
Godlisten Mkonyi on the right has been guiding since 2006. He received his guiding certificate from Mount Meru Tour Guides College as well. Godlisten speaks three languages, English, Kiswahli, and Spanish. When not guiding he enjoys spending time with his friends and watching football. Godlisten looks forward to sharing his knowledge with his guests.
They are amazing drivers and kept us safe on very difficult, rutted, muddy roads. They always knew where to find animals and had such a keen awareness so we didn’t miss one.

This photo is of “the other guys” not us!

Godlisten drove our Land Cruiser with Team G(Good to Go). Kris Thomas and Mike McCarty, Anna Hikoyeda and Mike Boshart, and Dick and me.
Aggrey guided the others in our group.
Joe Trinkle and his daughters Jane Lally(left) and Cathy Trinkle(right). They are from New Jersey and Cathy’s been working in Brussels.

Tom and Maggie Wilder from Phoenix. Tom is retired and works part-time at the Paradise Valley REI.
We all got to know each other and enjoyed each others’ company.
On our last full day Aggrey and Goodlistem hauled chairs, tables, and a delicious lunch to the bush for a picnic.

It was such a nice surprise

These four found an affinity with some local dung beetles and formed a Dung Beetle Activist Club.

The women dressed in the Masai table cloths and formed a Masai Rockette tribe. This is our group photo after our lovely Hakuna Matata performance.
Something tells us…it may be time for us to head home.

At the airport leaving the Serengeti we bid adieu to our guides who helped us better understand the Tanzanian wildlife, culture, and history. They presented us with a gift of Tanzanian coffee beans and big hugs. Thank you Aggrey and Godlisten for your kindness, expertise, and total care. We will always remember you! Asante Sana!
